Free Online Fancy Text Generator
Our free online fancy text generator converts each letter you type into a matching Unicode character. The fancy text generator is free, needs no sign-up and runs fully in your browser, so nothing you type leaves your device.
The fancy text generator works in 4 steps:
- Read the text you type in the input box.
- Split the text into single characters, each with a code point, such as
U+0041for “A”. - Map each character to its stylish twin in a Unicode block.
- Join the new characters into one string that you copy and paste.
The Unicode Consortium publishes the Unicode standard, which lists more than 150,000 characters. Most fancy text styles come from the Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols block (U+1D400–U+1D7FF), added in Unicode 3.1 in 2001. Bold “A” sits at U+1D400, so bold “B” sits at U+1D401. The generator adds one fixed offset to every letter of a style. 24 letters, including ℬ, ℌ and ℝ, were encoded earlier in the Letterlike Symbols block, and the tool fills those 24 gaps from a lookup table.
Press Play to watch one word move through each step, or click a letter to inspect its Unicode character.
Copy and Paste Fancy Text
To copy and paste fancy text, click any style card, and the text goes to your clipboard. Paste it with Ctrl+V on Windows, Cmd+V on Mac, or long-press a text field and tap Paste on iPhone and Android.
Fancy text survives copy and paste since fancy text is plain text, not formatting. A bold word in Microsoft Word is plain letters plus a hidden bold setting. Instagram, TikTok and WhatsApp drop that setting on paste. A Unicode bold word has no setting to drop, so the style stays.
There are 3 ways to copy your fancy text:
- Style cards copy the full result with one click or tap.
- Preview cards under the input box copy the 3 most used styles.
- Keyboard users press Enter or Space on a focused card.
Mobile copy and paste works the same way in Safari, Chrome and Samsung Internet. Pick a source and a destination below to see what each app receives.
Cool and Stylish Fancy Text Styles
There are 105 cool and stylish fancy text styles in 8 families: Classic, Script, Gothic, Modern, Enclosed, Decorated, Playful and Frames.
Examples of fancy text styles include:
- Cursive script: 𝓢𝓽𝔂𝓵𝓲𝓼𝓱 𝓷𝓪𝓶𝓮 for names, quotes and aesthetic bios.
- Bold and italic: 𝐁𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝘐𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘤 for emphasis where apps block formatting.
- Small caps: ꜱᴍᴀʟʟ ᴄᴀᴘꜱ for quiet, editorial bios.
- Bubble letters: Ⓑⓤⓑⓑⓛⓔ for playful and kawaii names.
- Gothic blackletter: 𝔊𝔬𝔱𝔥𝔦𝔠 for gaming tags and music pages.
- Vaporwave wide text: Wide for retro, aesthetic posts.
- Upside down text: uʍop ǝpᴉsdn for jokes and puzzles.
- Zalgo glitch text: Z̴̖a̵͖l̶͎g̷̺o̸͚ for horror themes and game names.
Each family draws on a different part of Unicode. Script, gothic and double-struck letters come from Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols. Bubble letters come from Enclosed Alphanumerics (U+2460–U+24FF). Zalgo text stacks combining characters above and below each letter. Select a family on the wheel to see its styles with your own text.
Fancy Fonts and Text Designs
Fancy fonts and fancy text designs are 2 different things. A font is a file on your device that changes how every letter looks, such as Georgia in Google Docs. Fancy text is a set of Unicode characters that keep their look in any font. A font stays on your device, and fancy text travels with the message.
A fancy text design has 3 layers:
- Base letters are Unicode characters from one style, such as 𝓑𝓸𝓵𝓭 𝓢𝓬𝓻𝓲𝓹𝓽.
- Combining marks are characters that draw over the letter before them, such as the strikethrough mark
U+0336. - Frames are emoji and symbols around the text, such as ꧁ ꧂ or ★彡.
Each extra layer adds characters. A 10-letter Zalgo name holds 40 to 60 Unicode characters, so keep heavy designs out of fields with short limits. Change one layer at a time below, then copy the design.
English Fancy Text
English fancy text covers 62 characters: 26 capital letters, 26 small letters and 10 digits. Unicode stylish alphabets cover the Latin alphabet, plus bold and italic Greek letters for math. Letters with accents, such as é or ñ, stay plain in most styles. Hindi, Arabic, Japanese and other scripts have no fancy alphabets in Unicode.
Fancy letters and numbers vary by style:
- Bold, double-struck, sans-serif and monospace include all 10 digits, such as 𝟏𝟐𝟑 and 𝟙𝟚𝟛.
- Script and Fraktur include no digits, so numbers stay plain.
- Small caps and superscript miss a few letters, such as small-caps “x” and superscript “q”.
Pick a style to see which of the 62 English characters it covers. A gold dot marks a letter borrowed from the Letterlike Symbols block.
How to Use the Fancy Text Generator
To use the fancy text generator, follow 4 steps:
- Type your text in the input box. The box accepts up to 300 characters.
- Browse the styles. All 105 fancy text styles update on every keystroke. Filter by family or search by name.
- Copy your fancy text by clicking a style card. The card shows “Copied” when the text is on your clipboard.
- Paste the result into Instagram, Discord, PUBG or any text field with Ctrl+V, Cmd+V or a long-press.
Pick a Classic or Script style, if the pasted text shows boxes (□). Boxes mean the app’s font lacks those characters, and Classic and Script styles have the widest font support. Remove extra combining marks, if a field rejects your text, since some apps limit marks per letter.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a fancy text generator?
A fancy text generator is an online text tool that converts normal letters into stylish Unicode characters. The output is plain text, so you copy and paste it into apps that block fonts and formatting, such as Instagram and TikTok.
How do I make and copy fancy text?
To make and copy fancy text, type in the input box and click the style you like. The fancy text copies to your clipboard and pastes with Ctrl+V on Windows, Cmd+V on Mac, or a long-press on iPhone and Android.
Is fancy text a real font or Unicode text?
Fancy text is Unicode text, not a real font. Each stylish letter is a separate Unicode character, such as 𝐀 (U+1D400, Mathematical Bold Capital A). Unicode normalization (NFKC) maps most fancy letters back to plain letters, and the inspector below shows the result.
Is a fancy font generator safe?
Yes, a fancy font generator is safe, when the tool runs in your browser and adds no hidden characters. Our fancy text generator sends nothing to a server and adds no invisible characters, so no Unicode steganography hides in the output. Some platforms filter look-alike characters in usernames for safety and moderation, since scammers copy brand names with them.
Is fancy text accessible to screen readers?
No, fancy text is not fully accessible to screen readers. VoiceOver, TalkBack and NVDA read many fancy letters by their Unicode names, such as "mathematical bold capital H", or skip them. Keep names, prices and key details in plain text, and use fancy text for short decorative parts.
Can I use fancy text on iPhone?
Yes, you can use fancy text on iPhone. Open the fancy text generator in Safari, tap a style to copy it, then long-press any text field and tap Paste. iOS shows Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols, Enclosed Alphanumerics and small caps in Instagram, WhatsApp and Notes.
Can I use fancy Unicode text in HTML?
Yes, you can use fancy Unicode text in HTML. Paste the characters into a UTF-8 page, or write each one as a numeric entity, such as 𝐀 for 𝐀. Keep title tags and headings in plain text, since search engine optimization (SEO) treats 𝐁𝐨𝐥𝐝 and Bold as different words.
